Satin walnut, also known as "red gum" veneer, is particularly popular in its growing region in the south-eastern USA. Depending on the angle of the light, the cream-coloured to reddish dark brown surface shimmers with a silky sheen.
Delicate stripes on the tangential and radial surfaces create a marble effect of extraordinary decorative value. In its raw state, the wood of the Satin Walnut has a subtle vanilla scent.
